ASU Finance

As an ASU member, your fees support a wide range of services for students across campus.

Some are visible, like operating the Axe, our Acadia clothing store, Perkins Cafe, SHRC, and student-led spaces such as the Women’s Centre and Acadia Pride. But a lot of what we do happens behind the scenes — like advocating for students at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels, and making sure student perspectives are heard at Acadia’s Board, Senate, and university committees. This work is only possible through the ASU mission, funded primarily by membership fees.

We have one general operating fee, along with several restricted fees. So what does “restricted” mean?

It means some fees are approved by students through referendums and must only be used for their specific purpose. For example, the Class Fee can only be used to support that year’s Grad Class programming — it cannot be redirected elsewhere.
